ROBERT WILLIAM SCALES, SENIOR ASSOCIATE
Robert William Scales, Jr. contributes over six of experience prior to joining Alford & O’Brien as Senior Associate Title Attorney. In his prior role as Lead Managing Attorney, he trained and managed over twenty attorneys, overseeing title opinions throughout Texas and Eastern Ohio. In this leadership role, he was responsible for drafting and reviewing numerous original, supplemental and division order title opinions in Texas and Ohio.

Robert led the drafting and review of over 500 title opinions including numerous of the following: Barnett Shale near Fort Worth, Permian Basin, Eagle Ford Shale, and land in Eastern Ohio. He prepared and negotiated oil and gas leases, assignments, water purchase agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and purchase and sale agreements on behalf of numerous clients. He served as the lead curative landman, responsible for curing title defects in and around the cities of Kenedy and Karnes City, Texas. He compiled runsheets in the Permian Basin and Eagle Ford regions. Prior to this, he gained experience in the oil and gas industry as a field landman, which included building mineral ownership reports and runsheets, as well as curing title defects identified by drilling title opinions.
