WILLIAM “BILLY” T. WEAVER, OF COUNSEL
Billy joined the firm in August of 2020. He brings over fifteen years of experience in Texas oil and gas law. He learned the process of oil and gas title examination in the courthouses of East Texas. After several years of transactional and title work in the Barnett Shale, his work took him to the Eagle Ford Shale and Permian Basin. Billy’s experience includes several years primarily focused on leasehold acquisition due diligence in the Permian Basin, guiding buyers and field landmen through the acquisition process.  His area of expertise is complex title examination, and analysis of oil and gas leases and attending risks in the acquisition and development of leasehold properties. In addition to the preparation of drilling title opinions and division order title opinions, his representation includes preparation of oil and gas leases, surface use agreements, purchase and sale agreements, and curative documents and agreements.
